G-Pex pipe is a composite pipe made of five layers, including a layer of welded aluminum and polyethylene inner and outer layers. It is faster to install than metal or rigid plastic pipes and requires fewer connections and fittings. Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX) is a plastic material made from medium- or high-density polyethylene. PEX has improved properties such as enhanced heat resistance and long term strength and stability. It is a high-temperature flexible plastic pressure pipe that ranges in diameter from one-quarter of an inch to four inches. PEX is much more flexible than steel or copper pipes, giving it a more hose-like appearance and allowing it to coil or snake through walls or other areas.
